Great to be back on the absolute slick ocean today! Fought Barracuda, Spanish Mackeral and Jaws on a short half day nearshore trip with some GREAT people from Greensboro, Craig, Tyler, Wyatt and Whitney. Fought Jaws (huge Tiger Shark) for the last hour only to break him off!! Ton of fun!

Had a great group of guys that picked at the mahi, blackfin tuna and kings for a few hours. Fought fish all morning before blowing a hub in one of the props 65 miles offshore. Took us 8 hours to get back to the hill on one motor but we made it! Thank the Lord for calm seas, a following wind and no afternoon storms. Caught several fish trolling back in on one motor as well!

We didn’t catch the big king we were hunting while fishing the East Coast Got Em On King Mackerel Tournament but we did manage to catch and save a sailfish from heavy rope wrapped around her mouth and body. She could not eat with this rope wrapped around her. She swam around the boat for 10 minutes while we threw everything we could to try to entice her to eat while noticing some blue looking garbage hanging on her. She was looking for help, so David free gaffes her towards her back fin area and we raised her in the boat and cut line away. She was so exhausted she didn’t put up any hassle at all. We put her back in the water and dragged her alongside the boat while she gained energy and then she swam away. We may not have caught the big king mackerel we were looking for but we sure were happy to be able to save a billfishes life. Totally worth every exhausting minute on the water this past weekend!
